extensions.json file not installing

Hi,
I will confess I am new to VSCODE and so likely a rookie mistake but I followed the instructions in the readme file and when I click the extensions.json file - nothing happens. I do not get an install or 'run code' option. Any pointers on what I should be doing?

Good question. I just see that the instructions were a bit incomplete, and I updated it.

You have to open the "setup" folder first to make the pop-up appear.

I.e., select "Open Folder"

then select the "setup folder

And then the pop-up should appear:

Yeah, correct. Actually it would be better to move the .vscode folder in the root dir of the repo, this is the standard for projects

Then VS Code automatically checks if the recommended extensions are already installed on your system everytime you open the project (in projects, this is helpful once new extensions are added to the recommendation list). You can then choose to install them or not.

The install instructions were written when the .vscode and .devcontainer folders were located in the root dir, but some users got confused what those . folders are good for. As those folder are only helpful for users using VS Code, they been moved in the setup subfolder.
