I noticed that recently autodetection of git author was implemented for BitBucket server platform (#29525) but it seems to have side effects on cloud based installations.
From below log can be observed that it first detects the correct user, but after that overwrites it to the default :-(

Never mind a re-read of the original ticket mentions bitbucket server. I am running against bitbucket cloud, not bitbucket server, apparently this is not implemented there.

@amezin I have no clue how if and how easy it is to port this from bitbucket server to bitbucket-cloud platform. Do you have any idea?

If I remember correctly, Cloud has an API endpoint for the current authenticated user. So it should be more similar to GitHub than Bitbucket Server.

Both these sentences/statements seem incorrect. Bitbucket Cloud has no gitAuthor detection logic, so your "observation" is mistaken. You need to configure gitAuthor
