PCBs in database

Hello,

I am thinking maybe PCBs can be added to database with custom code and If I solder one then it can automatically drop the number of the components from inventory and increase PCB count by pushing a button.

do you mean the PCB layout files (Eagle, etc) or an image of the PCB?

If you can explain your idea a little more, I could probably integrate something. Sounds interesting

Sorry, BOM of the PCB. Yes there can be expanded but basically just BOM. PCB with a custom identity code will be added as an item. its BOM can be imported from excel or copy pasted. Then if I solder one basically I press a button so it will decrease the components of BOM from inventory. And I will see there is one soldered PCB in inventory. And I will print that same identity code on silk screen when I am designing a PCB.

Maybe There can be some suffix for soldered board on identity code so I will add the inventory all ordered un-assembled PCBs. When I assemble it the suffix will apply and increase that. So I would know how many soldered and un-soldered ones. and I won't have to decrease used components manually.

I can certainly dive into this shortly, as I had planned some BOM management but never identified exactly which features would be most helpful. I think your suggestion is a great idea and sounds fairly easy to implement.
