Better Serialization Strategy

In the current version, it is possible to serialize information about scheduled jobs in a primitive way utilizing the string values of the description method. An example implementation can be found here. Improving this would likely require breaking changes to the API, so I decided to bring this up for discussion to determine the best approach.
