Allow task grouping / subtasks #242

Hi, thanks for the suggestion! Just so we are on the same page: Currently, there is a 2-level hierarchy
and your suggestions would basically add a new layer to the hierarchy (let's call it subtask for now) making it
is that right? Or is the suggestion to have infinite layers down? I have not used Monday but if I remember correctly in Clickup Sub-Tasks are the furthest down. In the case of Sub-Tasks, I'm not completely against it, and i definitely see the use case but my concern is that it will make the system more complex and harder to use / harder to find the correct Tasks / Sub-Tasks. f.e. in the Project/Task Dropdown that is used to assign a new Time Entry, if would add an entirely new level. With our current system there are in my opinion 2 ways to make your use case work without Sub-Tasks:
If there is enough demand/need for that feature I'm sure we can make it work, i just don't wanna make it more complicated than it has to be, and there has already been some feedback that people considered the Project/Tasks system confusing. Happy to hear your thoughts and also if someone else stumbles upon this issue and likes / dislikes the idea. |

Hi! Yep, you got it. My suggestion is like you described, just adding a second grouping level(aka "subtask"), not an infinite one. Also, working with subtasks allows assigning them to different team members since a main task could have different owners on their subtasks. Working with tags is an interesting topic, and in fact, we use them, but grouping tasks is a feature killer since it gives you more granularity and control. Let me share with you how we have it on ClickUp: (the names are written in Spanish. If you need help translating them, let me know, and I'll give you a hint) Thanks |

We decided to move feature requests into github discussions, to separate feature requests from bugs and allow for better prioritization. If this feature is important to you, you can upvote it to let us know. |

Hi there,
First, let me say you are doing great software and it looks amazing!
Since SolidTime is growing really fast, IMHO there is a feature that needs to be added to the projects piece. Usually, a project has several tasks that need to be accomplished and they are grouped by areas, i.e. a web development project will look like:
Other tools like Monday or ClickUP, allow this kind of grouping, and it is a feature really helpful.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Currently, there is no way to have this hierarchical sorting for tasks, isn't it? If so, please feel free to close this FR out.
Thank you in advance
