The Marlin Firmware Group is an informal collaboration among open source developers and creative enthusiasts focused on improving the state of the art in 3D printer performance and user experience.

👁️ What Do We Do?

Our main focus is Marlin Firmware itself, the software that resides on the machine's motherboard and manages all motion, heaters, user interface, and add-on peripherals.

Marlin was designed to be small, optimized, and adaptable in order to run on modest boards with 1998-era processors, but we've rapidly extended it to run on powerful modern ARM-based boards. In addition to 3D printers, Marlin can also drive plotters, laser engravers, CNC machines, and custom robots.

• Auto Build Marlin to help users configure, build, and install Marlin.

While Marlin development is certainly a labor of love, it's also a full-time job for the Project Maintainer and more than a part-time effort for many contributors, so every sponsor makes a huge difference and is greatly appreciated!

Funding the project helps to keep the lights on, acquire test equipment, and provides the stability needed to keep all of our focus on improving this revolutionary technology, keeping up with new hardware, and developing new and better methods.
