I am a Ph.D. student in the Faculty of Computer Science at the Free University of Bolzano and in the Mobile and Social Computing Lab at Fondazione Bruno Kessler.

I am broadly interested in computational sustainability and machine learning methods to predict and generate human mobility. Human mobility is highly connected with multiple modern challenges such as migration, pollution, spreading diseases, and many others. Currently, I am working on creating geographically transferable deep learning models for human mobility.

Sponsorship would allow me to develop and design and maintain a PyTorch-based deep learning library with a collection of mobility datasets and models. I already wrote a survey paper that will be the starting point for this ambitious project. This library will be available to everyone and aims to accelerate the development of humanitarian studies and also more technical studies.
