Hi!
I'm Alex, an aircraft control systems engineering student from QuerΓ©taro.
I also work as a freelancer, and enjoy the challenges and thrills that come with being an independent developer. But honestly, it is very consuming to deal with "bad" clients while pursuing an engineering degree in the aerospace sector. In some cases, I was forced to add the option of remotely disabling my apps just to get paid.
I do most of my open-source projects for fun, and I don't expect anything in return for doing FOSS. I really like interacting with the community and see what people are doing with the software that I have developed. For me, writing open-source software is much more pleasant and fulfilling than creating websites and mobile apps for people that try to find a way to take advantage of your work.
In some ways, creating open-source software has helped me to overcome many of the burnouts that I have experienced through college and life in general. I truly believe that FOSS is something that requires at least some kind of passion. And if managed correctly, it really empowers both the users and the developers.
I don't expect to get rich or buy a new car from donations, but I would really like to get at least a fraction of my bills paid while doing something that is useful, accesible and modifiable for everyone :)
