I am currently solving the problem of UK capital gain tax reporting. The rules are not straight forward and complicated by the many available derivatives and foreign currency.

There are many of the tax calculation library that is available but I think a web application is much more useful than requiring user to install and compile code and run a program, also a lot of those library don't deal with foreign currency or handle shorting.
