Using a ps4 controller wired. Sometimes it will double click radically and seems to lag. Log is fine

Same here. It's most noticeable when trying to switch items. This is the number one issue that is preventing me from switching to Stardew64.

I'm not sure, but the controller I bought runs on Microsoft Xbox 360 controller but it's a ps4. Now we have no bugs with controller. I threw out the box, but it was a 30 dollar wired ps4 controller on amazon

Wired ps4 controller does not work to fix the issue. Since the most recent update, the controllers actually do not work whatsoever in game, but are still recognized and usable through steam.

I am seeing this issue on an original wired PS4 controller. It works via Steam and has no issues in Stardew32. I have not tried replacing Steam's controller driver with third party tools to see if they have the same problem. Any suggestions?

@Annayrb I had that issue when I added StardewModdingAPI.exe as a non-steam game. Fix was to edit Stardew Valley's launch options directly.

I've got this issue too.

I've tried combinations of:

  • xbox one v2 controllers in wired, bluetooth and Xbox Adaptor mode
  • Playstation 4 controllers in wired and bluetooth mode
  • Steam controller

Basically, as soon as a second input is connected, they seem to interfere with each other, as if activating inputs on one, blocks inputs (or changes to inputs) on the other.

Edit: I forgot to mention that this is not an issue on Stardew 32

Could you all test this on 64bit without SMAPI using the latest version?

Updated to Stardew64 1.1.8 (installed over the previous verion) and directly started the game by launching StardewModdingAPI.exe. Both wired PS4 controllers were working in split-screen co-op and I was unable to reproduce the issue I mentioned earlier. Not sure what has changed, but I used to be able to reproduce the issue by pressing L2/R2 (the toolbar select would skip around like crazy).

I was not able to start the game by directly running StardewValley.exe (file I/O error complaining about missing SMAPI toolkit), but I guess I don't really need to now.

Updating to 1.1.8 and reinstalling allows it to run fine without SMAPI.
