I think I just encountered a similar issue (not sure if it is related to go-rpio).

After restarting my Pi, my wifi wasn't working anymore, so I couldn't connect to ssh. Nothing seemed to help (more restarts etc.), but it helped eventually to disconnect the power supply for several hours and let it rest. (So it might be related to overheating)

Hope this information might help to someone.
