"Can you provide a minimal reproduction?" when updating is impossible

It would prove difficult to provide a minimal reproduction to something that happens during an update, like when an automigration script breaks without reason...
And this is kind of becoming more apparent with the latest updates, where the team seems to push changes that are not following semver conventions.

So, as a general discussion topic, what can it be done to alleviate this issue?
