I manually install c-utils, lb, turbine and stc all to the same location and get this error - /homes/jain/install/swift-t does not appear to be a valid Turbine installation: expected /homes/jain/install/swift-t/bin/turbine to be present

turbine is present so the error message isn't clear. I'll try to reinstall with separate directories for each component.
