Hey @syfds

Today I did some testing with four speakers. It is working, but might need some further development:

  • When creating a new zone, all four speakers start playing. I would prefer them not to start playing automatically, but being able to add each speaker individually. Or being able to choose between just starting a zone and playing on all available speakers.
  • Removing a speaker from the zone works. A "+" with tooltip "create multiroom zone" appears right to the speaker. Clicking does nothing. It would be nice if I could re-add the speaker to the zone.
  • When I start playing somethin else on this speaker and click on the "+", a new zone is created: all speakers stop what they were playing and start playing the new zone. This confused me a little.

Keep going, I really appreciate your work :)

Btw: I like that new speakers automatically get detected when the app is running.

hi @elChorche , thank you for your feedback! I'll contact you if there is a new version, of course if and when you have time and interest to test a little bit :-)

I think it would be easier for all to handle the multiroom configuration like it is built in the SoundTouch app. Soon I will make a new version. If you have some suggestion don't be shy to share them!

I considered your suggestions and created a new release https://github.com/syfds/soundy/releases/tag/v0.3.2

That was quick! And I like the new handling. Seems to work fine for me, didn't find any issues. Thanks!

Something else, though: version 0.3.2 requires libgranite5 >= 5.5.0+r1772+pkg115dailyubuntu5.1.6.1. Difficult for someone not using Ubuntu, I guess :) I have libgranite 5.5.0-1 installed and had to force the installation of Soundy 0.3.2. Worked fine.

hi @elChorche, yeah, I saw this problem already on ubuntu 20.04 :-/ I try to find a workaround for this dependency!

hi @elChorche, there will be a flatpak package soon so probably it would be an option for you to avoid custom dependency on granite?
