What's the difference between a ESP01 and a ESP8266? I assume it's the number of accessible GPIOs, the size of the flash and may be some more resource limitations? Just give it a try. IMO it should work out of the box. May be OTA isn't possible because the flash is too small.

Yes. The standard setup is:

JK-BMS <-----TTL-----> JK-RS485-Dongle <-----RS485-----> Blue RS485 China Module <-----TTL-----> ESP

Please avoid using RS485 if you don't need long wires.

Yes. I told to Hanzor that rs485 is used over long distances. I know you need an adapter to convert from rs to ttl-usb.

I was referring to the one in the picture if it can be used in both cases, ttl to rs conversion, and if you already have rs output to convert to ttl ?

I ask this because i use this on my epever controler that have rs485 output and need to convert to ttl-usb. And i dont know if this device can covert ttl to rs.(bms case)

It can be used in both cases but the JK-RS485 dongle solves the power supply issue by using VBAT for you. If you use the China module twice you have to power both modules on your own.

A small RCD on a DIN rail. My maximum load isn't big (around 1kW at 48V).

I tried to trace/understand how the GPS/UART-TTL port is connected to the CH32F103. Without success yet.

I've pushed a new feature recently. It's possible to control the charging/discharging MOSFET using UART-TTL now. You could add these new switch entities to your YAML.

If you publish ON or OFF to the state topic of the entity it can be controlled via MQTT too.

Nice. I just tested charging on/off command.
Mqtt is sent from nodered when a cell reaches 3.45. The charging stops and waits for the inverter to enter Float mode.
Then a new command is sent to start the charging.

I have an update about powering esp from battery (50v)

I use a charger with input 90-230vAC and output 20vDC (minim voltage. not working with lower output !)
Wire AC input to Battery and i have a 20v isolated supply. Then i use 5v step down converter to supply power to esp.
It has been working without problems for over 40 days.
