"UNIQUE" key word support?

Does this plugin support UNIQUE keyword for a column entry? When I put it in, say db.execute('CREATE TABLE tableName(column_name TEXT UNIQUE)') , the UNIQUE key word doesn't seem to do anything. Duplicate entries are still being done in the said column.
