Checklist

  • I have used the search function to see if someone else has already submitted the same bug report.
  • I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible.

App

K-9 Mail

App version

8.2

Where did you get the app from?

F-Droid

Android version

10 (LineageOS 17.1)

Device model

Sony Xperia XA2

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Inbox
  2. Open side menu
  3. Press "Hide accounts"
  4. Return to K-9 mail at some later time
  5. Open side menu again

Expected behavior

The menu would stay with accounts hidden.

Actual behavior

After a long period, it forgets and returns to the view without "Hide accounts". So far it seems to be if the app has been stopped/restarted by the OS.

This is particularly important on a small phone screen; without "Hide accounts" the names of the folders become wrapped and impossible to read. This is generally an irritation because the menu (compared to older K-9 mail) is narrower and ignores about 20% of the screen.
