I started working on initial support for Linux.
I'd like to hear if you have any ideas or suggestions. What kind of initial scripts do we want to see?
Language/interpreter
I think we should use
bash
as it's the most generally supported scripting language.Linux generalization
Instead of adding different collections like Ubuntu, Arch etc. I think we should go for single "Linux" collection to start with. So in UI you choose: macOS | Windows | Linux instead of macOS | Windows | Ubuntu | Arch... We could still add distro-specific scripts under "Linux" collection. But having single collection would make the UI less cluttered and help reusing common scripts without duplicating them.
First-class citizen sandboxing
Almost all applications and scripts for privacy cleanup in Linux only clean up global installation directories, but I think we should support package managers like
snap
andflatpak
because it's both good practice to use them and they're being used more and more by distros as default.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
