Is Hyperlink auditing (<a ping>) enabled or disabled by default?

According to default_settings.md, it is supposedly disabled. But according to flags.md, there's a flag for an existing switch '--no-pings' with a description Don't send hyperlink auditing pings. Chromium feature, ungoogled-chromium flag, which is disabled by default, so pings are supposedly enabled. These two wiki entries contradict each other, please clarify, which is correct.
