apollo has a "no-cache" that is useful. few cases:
a) our customers have a way to make "dry" run mutations which return the same type/id combo from server, i'd rather not have to create a new temporary id-paradigm or workaround to avoid writing unpersisted data into the cahce
b) putting calls on a timer (eg: to update badge/notification counts), cause unnecessary renders if the root object is used everywhere. eg, model.countA, model.countB and anywhere that uses model.randomProperty, will get refreshed because the model root was touched.
c) transient data (eg: restricted by a third-party), say, geolocation resolution, has no value being cached locally and would rather control this on a per-call basis then having to write a bunch of exceptions in the client
