Question

Hello Vitess team,

I would like to ask if there is currently no API to clear the gateway monitoring data on port 15001. For gateways that have been running online for two to three years, the returned data is particularly large, making it inconvenient to collect.

Thank you.

Are you talking about the /metrics endpoint? Or something else?

Are you talking about the /metrics endpoint? Or something else?

Our gateways have been running online for two to three years, and the data exposed by the /metrics endpoint has become very large, including many obsolete metrics. I would like to ask if there is any way to clear or reset the data from the /metrics endpoint.

As noted in the slack conversation on this topic, there is currently no endpoint that does this. Whether we should allow one is questionable because stats are intended to be collected for the lifetime of the process.
