Improve visual indication of difference between open and close menu

What version of starlight are you using?

What is your idea?

Currently, the visual difference between menu open & close is accomplished by the use of color.

Would like to see this changed to provide more clarity on what clicking the button will do by using an "X" (the close icon) when the menu is open, leaving all the styling identical between opened and closed states.

Why is this feature necessary?

The concern with the current behavior is that by darkening the button when the menu is opened is that its more akin to being disabled then active. Additionally, based on color scheme/theme, the difference could be very subtle and difficult to discern.
