Benchmarking

So far we have benchmarking for:

• PM2.5 and O3 concentrations over China (default).
• For 48 hours per season.
• The benchmarking can be against the extensive measurement dataset for China (default) or against OpenAQ.

Suggestions for further additions are:

• PM10, NO2, SO2, CO, aerosol components < 2.5 um (BC, OC, NH4, NO3, SO4, OIN)
• Atmospheric burdens (sulphate, OH)
• AOD550 (surface / column)
• Wind speed, wind direction, precipitation, temperature, pressure.

GEOS-Chem has an extensive benchmarking suite that can be used as a template for further development.

The benchmarking now uses the MEIC2015 emissions, over simulations for 2015, and creates plots (map and scatter) summarising the evaluation (example for WRFotron2.3.0).
