✌今天要告诉大家，要表达“等一下”不能用 wait a moment，小心遭白眼哈，嘻嘻~

Wait a moment 不礼貌！如果你把“等一下”说成 wait a moment，老外多半认为你是个傲慢的人，很没礼貌!

礼貌表达：just 系列
Just a moment：稍等下哈~
Just a second：等一下哈~

例句:
Could you please do me a favor?
— Just a moment / second.
你能帮我我个忙吗?
— 稍等下哈(这就来).

礼貌表达：give 系列
Give me a second：稍等片刻~

例句:
Could you help me clean room 222, please?
请帮我打扫222房间。
Give me a second, please.
麻烦您稍等片刻。

解析:
Wait a moment 是祈使句，带有命令的口吻，还有点不耐烦！
Wait a moment =（你给我）等一下
(你给我站住，小心削你~)

PS：在打电话的时候，如果你临时有事，需要对方等一下，可以说 hold on, please.

你知道“自来水”怎么表达吗

  • 自来水：Tap water & Running water

    People there don’t drink tap water because it’s not fresh. 那里的人不喝自来水，因为不新鲜。

  • 拓展:

    Jason was in hot water because he failed the exam again.

ask 常用的词组 ☕

1⃣ ask about 询问，打听
eg：I would like to ask about your future plans.
我想问一下你未来的计划。

2⃣ ask after 问候
eg：You'd better call and ask after her. 
你最好打电话向她问候一下。

3⃣ ask for 请求…; 要求…
eg：Did he come to ask for help? 
他来请求帮助了吗？
eg：May I ask for your views on a few questions？
我能否请你谈谈服几个问题的看法？

4⃣ ask of 向…要求
eg：I do everything you ask of me. 
你要我做的事我都做了。
eg：What would you ask of me? 
你们想要求我什么？

中英用词思维差异

  1. ✨吃午餐

    ❌ eat lunch
    ✅ have lunch

    eat 后面只能加食物的名称，比如 eat pizza, eat ice cream 这些。但像早餐午餐晚餐这样的统称，应该用 have。

  2. ✨学习知识

    ❌ study knowledge
    ✅ gain knowledge

    study 同 eat 差不多，后面要加具体的知识类别，比如 study English，study Maths。而像 knowledge 这样的统称，要与 get 或是 gain 搭配。

  3. ✨销售人员

    ❌ a sales
    ✅ a salesman

    sales 主要指的销售业绩，如果想表达做销售的人，要说 salesperson 或 salesman。

  4. ✨得了感冒

    ❌ be in a cold
    ✅ catch a cold

    记住这里动词要用 catch。有个脑筋急转弯是问：cold 和 hot 哪个跑得快？

    答案是 hot，因为 we can catch a cold.

  5. ✨有点感冒

    ❌ catch a bit cold
    ✅ catch a bit of cold

    a bit 后面要加形容词，a bit of 后面才可以加名词。而这里，cold 是名词“感冒”，所以要说 a bit of。
