Just needs a driver update to pick up "VK_KHR_dynamic_rendering". Your 470 driver is 3 year old. |
doesn't that mean that my GPU is not supported? |
Your driver version is 470.223.02 and a quick check on ubuntu suggests that there is a version 470.239.06 available, meaning your driver is somewhat outdated even within its release branch. https://developer.nvidia.com/vulkan-driver says that version 470.62.07 from a bit less than 3 years ago introduced support for that extension so it should be supported on a driver that is newer than that. |
I'm on this right now, i have successfully installed the meant driver by adding http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ sid non-free, however; the driver was installed but is not running for some reason, thus i posted an issue about it on https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/ and waiting to see the response. |
I just checked compatibility and it turned out that my graphics card does not support the latest version of nvidia-tesla-470-driver. |
Technically, no. This extension is not about GPU capabilities. It's about driver capabilities.
That's quite sad for NVidia to do. |
Nonetheless, it's alright; i will keep checking Zed and support it because i find it interesting. /shrug |
I have nVidia dGPU - GT 755M I am unable to use zed in GPU (I have latest nVidia legacy 470 driver)

Describe the bug / provide steps to reproduce it
Slow rendering using the proprietary NVIDIA driver, unsure if it was caused by the driver itself, i am getting like 10 FPS normally.
