Sharada-Braille-Writer

Sharada-Braille-Writer (S.B.W) is a text editor for GNU/Linux which support braille input. In S.B.W, Simultaneous multiple press of braille combinations, will produce corresponding letters. So one can input text in more than 40 languages with braille knowledge in perkins like way. letters f, d, s, j, k, l represent 1 2 3 4 5 6 of the braille dots respectively. By pressing "f" and "s" together will produce letter k and like.

Features

  1. Support Grade-1 and Grade-2 braille input for many languages.
  2. Works with two back translation engines (Liblouis, Built-in).
  3. Option for setting user abbreviations.
  4. Supports Nemeth-code for Mathmatic Braille.
  5. Support Multiple tab for editing several files.
  6. Option for toggle between Braille input and system default input.
  7. Option for Line limiting and auto newline.
  8. Option for auto capitalization.
  9. Support Key/shortcut customization.
  10. Support Theme and Font selection for better readability.
  11. Support basic text manipulatin functions including Undo/redo, Find, Find and Replace, Go-to-Line, Spell checker, etc.
  12. Audio Converter for recording text as audio using text to speech engine.

Installing

Dependency list : python3, libbraille-input, python3-speechd, espeak, python3-enchant.

git clone https://github.com/zendalona/sbw.git

cd sbw

python3 setup.py install --install-data=/usr
