  Google updated the Community Console with a technical change which broke the following features:

  • Show a notification when a thread list has new updates (autoRefresh feature)
  • Show avatars in thread lists (threadListAvatars feature)
  • Show a toggle to enable/disable nested view in threads (flattenThreads feature)
  • Show additional information in the UI (extraInfo feature, though this is still an experiment)

  This release includes the fix.

• Updated German translation, thanks to Tobias Fink and Njord Holm!

• Add reorder buttons to the workflow manager

  ⚠️ Note: This feature is not yet ready for launch and is only available as an experiment in the Canary channel.

• Many internal changes to migrate the code to the new software architecture.

  This effort helps us have a more maintainable and scalable codebase, where it's easier to fix issues, adapt to future changes of TW and the Community Console, and implement new features.

Known issues

• (Also present in the previous version) In Firefox, after loading the Community Console in a new tab, some features might not work.

  As a workaround: if you soft-reload the current page or navigate to another page, they will start to work properly.

• Switched from Manifest V2 to Manifest V3 in the Stable channel

  MV3 is the newest version of the Chrome Extensions platform. Beta and Canary
  releases have been built with MV3 for a long time, but this is the first Stable
  release built with MV3.

• Dark theme improvements

  • Adjust correctly the theme of the new "report" dialog

    The new report dialog appeared with a light theme and its background
    made some flashes.

    This version fixes the theme mismatch by forcing the dialog theme to match
    the one set in the CC, and it also fixes the background flashes.

  • Fix dialogs close button color.

  • Fix color for error messages when loading threads.

  • Fix "duplicate thread" dialog buttons color.

  Please keep the reports coming if you find something which is not styled correctly! :)

  • Now the theme switch via the button in the CC is instant. It doesn't do a full
    page reload to apply the theme change.

• "Reduce whitespace" feature now works again in thread lists in mobile

  A long time ago this feature added styles to improve the thread lists UI in small
  screens like mobile phones. They had to be removed because an update to the
  Community Console broke them, but the styles have now been fixed and thus
  are back in this release.

• Added German translation, thanks to Njord Holm!

• Added Japanese translation, thanks to Jun KOBAYASHI!

• Added Korean translation, thanks to 김태윤!

• Updated Arabic, French, Italian, and Russian translations, thanks to @Wylifan and @medelinor-1!

• Launched "flatten threads" feature

  This feature allows you to change between the vanilla nested view and a
  linear non-nested view just like before the "nested replies" feature was
  launched.

• Dark theme improvements

• Infinite scroll: fix incompatibility with message links

  When opening a link to a specific message inside a thread in both TW
  basic and the Community Console, the "load more" button might be visible
  for an instant before/while scrolling to and focusing the specific
  message being linked. This causes the "load more" button to be pressed
  automatically when the infinite scroll feature is enabled.

  This change fixes this issue by adding a delay of 3.5s before enabling the
  infinite scroll feature when the URL specifies a message to focus.

There have also been many under-the-hood changes (such as changes to the workflows feature which is still only an experiment available in the canary channel) and some other minor fixes.

• Add warning message when using old thread design

  In threads which are using nested replies, a warning will be shown if
  the user has enabled the old thread design to notify them that they
  won't work properly.

• "Remove excessive white space" feature:

  • Improve spacing in the reply dialog.
  • Fix CC sidebar spacing (a recent update broke the styles which reduced white space in the Community Console left sidebar).

• Dark theme minor fixes: the folowing components are now styled correctly:

  • The "original thread" box in escalations.
  • The bug and cases popup (Googler-only).
  • The star button in thread lists.

• Fix avatars feature for threads with nested replies

  The avatars feature didn't work well when a thread had nested replies.
  This change adapts the feature so it takes into account nested replies.
  The order of the avatars tries to take into account when a user joined
  the thread, instead of showing the avatars in the order they are shown
  inside a thread.

• Added French translation (many thanks for your contribution Bryx and @Lulucmy!!)

• Updated Russian and Italian translation (many thanks @Wylifan and @medelinor-1!!)
