Full code syntax highlighting selection added in Gtkwrite through Menu->Tools->Highlighting which provides a sorted list of syntax sections (e.g. Markup, Scientific, Scripts, Sources, Other) which each contain a sorted list of syntax names (e.g. C, C#, CG Shader Language, C/C++/ObjC Header). Selecting a syntax type will apply that syntax to the contents of the current editor window. Without GtkSourceView2, the editor builds as Gtkedit and menus do not contain the syntax highlighting submenus.
