Hi there, welcome to my profile!

I'm Hugo Verhelst, a researcher in Computational Mechanics using Isogeometric Analysis.

🏫 Currently, I am affiliated to the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia (Italy), in prof. Alessandro Reali's group.

🔬 My research focusses on...

  • ... solid and shell mechanics with application to (post-)buckling instabilities with special interest in wrinkling,
  • ... advanced spline constructions, especially aimed at adaptive refinement for nonlinear partial differential equations,
  • ... phase-field modeling, with special focus in fracture.
