Introduction
Hello friends! I am a professional web developer and self-taught computer scientist. I work with GNU/Linux environments, and I have many years of experience writing PHP, Python, JavaScript, C, C++, Java, and CSS. I am actively learning Rust, C++, and Node.js. I am also an artist, musician, YouTuber and Twitch streamer. I use Void Linux as a daily driver. I would very much appreciate a sponsorship so I can:
- Create quality work for free software community
- Get access to better continuous integration
- Get access to better hardware, virtual machines, better testing
- Create quality documentation for my work
- Sponsor the work of others
- More features for my Discord server
- Afford better workflows, better VPN, continuous integration
I work on and maintain my own website, TannerBabcock.com. My website showcases my artwork, my music, my lists and reviews for film and music, and a number of helpful GNU/Linux guides. I have a GitHub Pages website set up to host the literate configurations in my Dotfiles. If you choose to sponsor me, I will gladly contribute my knowledge and intelligence to any project or repository you want - I will allow you access to my Tanner Babcock Patron Chat on Discord, or I will join your existing Discord, Slack channel, or IRC network. Even though I need my bills to be paid and to eat, I will spend this money on what the sponsors would like me to spend it on.
My Work
There are many examples of my work available to view online. You can view all of my web development homework, live on my website.. That index page aggregates the work from all of my web development classes, so potential sponsors, and potential future employers, can see I am a trained and highly skilled web developer. Here is the repository that is hosted on my website. This repository contains the viewable homework for five classes:
Hopefully, you can see from my list of repositories, that I am educated in a number of other languages. I will list my other homework repositories:
Here are some of the final projects I've had for my computer science, or web development classes.
Projects
WaXchange
WaXchange was my final project for Intro to PHP. It has a working MySQL database, compiled Vue components with SASS, AJAX on almost every page, and a working user registration system with email.
Video Store
The Video Store was my final project for Data Structures. It is a working graphical Qt 5 application with a SQLite database and threads.
Casual Mock Skirmish
Casual Mock Skirmish was my group project for Advanced C++. It is a text-based terminal battle simulator. It was a collaboration with Noah Ertz, Owen Miner, Lukas Lawler, Gage Decker, and Jeffrey Garretto.
Music
I am also an active musician, and I manage a small digital record label for me and my friends' music. Here are links to my music on Bandcamp.
Organization
I made an organization for myself on GitHub. I use this organization to distribute tutorials and resources to my sponsors. This is where we collaborate on your projects.
Conclusion
Please, feel free to contact me at babkock at protonmail dot com about any opportunities I may be interested in. I am also a YouTuber and Twitch streamer, as well as a website maintainer, artist, and computer scientist. If you do not feel like sponsoring me via GitHub, you can directly donate to me through PayPal.
