P1 2D tracers PR236 (Tuomas/Joe)
Joe's PR looks good. Only issue is that due to the SUPG stabilization, the tracer equation constructor now needs the velocity field as an argument which differs from the normal API used in Thetis (where velocity and other fields are passed to the timeintegrator object). Need to think further if there's an alternative way to implement SUPG.
The Hydro-research group has been preparing common scripts for setting up Thetis simulations. Useful for setting up new simulations (e.g. by students) in a coherent way. Will share a draft in the near future. It was discussed that this could perhaps be in a separate thetis-applications repository. Could include both idealised as well as realistic simulations.
Also discussed that we could write more demos for the website. There are already some Jupyter notebooks that could be included. At the moment, the website uses rst files which can be converted into python scripts automatically. Easiest way would be to convert the notebooks to rst documents. In the long run should seek for a platform where we could include notebooks directly. Possible new demos include: 2D tracers, 2d sediments, and 3D turbulence at least.
