Release Delta
Release Delta
Improvements from Delta-RC1
- Added more outline cutouts for added compatibility
- Minor routing and silkscreen improvements; moved components and labels
- Metadata added for all components except graphics
- Removed "RC1" from label
Notes for production files
- Production files contain JLCPCB and/or Elecrow components, as defined by the component metadata in the schematic and board files. This PCB was not designed to be JLCPCB-manufacturable as JLC does not solder the hotswap sockets, hence some components have only Elecrow SKUs
- The design can use a multitude of microcontrollers (see the Joker64 topology ). The files as released use STM32F401RCT6, so the Bill of Materials uses the particular configuration for this microcontroller, namely, the lack of the USB D+ 1.5k resistor pullup
- Although the PCB also supports both on-board USB connector and a JST for USB daugterboard, the JST connector was removed from the BoM. The JST for the RGB daughterboard was also removed. These JSTs were removed because they need a specially designed case, otherwise they will bang against the case bottom during typing
Revision Delta Release Candidate 1
Revision Delta Release Candidate 1
Improvements from Rev. Gamma
- The RGB strategy was changed from common-anode RGB LEDs with an I2C ISSI controller to integrated-controller, reverse-mounted SK6812 mini-E LEDs
- Outline and tracing was also optimized
- MCU changed to 64-pin STM32F401
Disclaimer
This version is a Release Candidate, as in, an attemptive design intended to be final but under prototyping.
Notes on production files
- The bill of materials released pertains to the Joker template configured for the F401 microcontroller. For clarification, read the Joker topology documentation.
- This BoM also does not have the two JST connectors, one for the USB daughterboard and another for the RGB daughterboard.
Release Gamma RC1
Minor tolerance, tracing and constraints improvements over the pre-release.
Pre-release Gamma
- Traces reworked to more permissive tolerances and margins
- New features: removable USB, daughterboard support, RGB strip support
- Multi-MCU design (the default release is for STM43F411CEU6)
Pre-release Beta
PCB was re-hauled to accomodate for more features:
- USB daughterboard support thrhough JST connector ;
- Removable USB-C ;
- RGB underglow strip supported via JST connector;
- Per-key RGB now controlled by a more sophisticated ISSI IS31FL3741 chip and commo9n-anode RGB LEDs ;
- Freaking awesome logo ;
- Prototypes pending as of the pre-release date
Pre-release Beta
Release Beta differs from release Alpha in that now the per-key RGB scheme is controlled by a much more intricate, albeit much more efficient, LED driver integrated circuit IS31FL3741. The PCB outlines, connector placement and layout are kept the same.
RGB underglow can still be accessed through a JST connector and a notch on the PCB through which the JST cable goes through in case the lighting faces upwards.
Pre-release Alpha
pre-Alpha Add skew pairing curves to USB diff pair
