Welcome to the Waldos Mission Pack Wiki!
This project was initially envisioned as an easy-to-access, flexible alternative for new mission makers. Requiring little knowledge of the Arma 3 engine, mission makers can use this pack and its associated features to enrich their missions without expending the level of effort required to see what's behind the proverbial curtain.
Created initially for the mission makers of the Rooster Teeth Discord Arma group, this pack is in continued use by at least forty known units from all corners of the milsimsphere due to its unrestricted versatility and its relative ease of use. In its spread, it is hoped that this pack will act as a bridge to guide people through the basics of mission-making and support experienced mission-makers to a higher degree.
The pack has two aims:
- To provide an easy-to-use and supportive pack of functions and compositions to help newer, or less programmatically inclined, members of the mission maker community
- To provide extensive documentation to assist in understanding the pack and, if so desired, the wider Arma programming world. A specific choice was made to tailor the pack so that it is as easy as possible to read and reverse engineer at the expense of some efficiency. This shouldn't be impactful in any meaningful way.
I maintain this wiki regularly and keep it updated with tutorials on the vast majority of features in the pack and provide a quickstart guide:
- Loadout saving and respawn system
- Automatic ACRE2 Radio setup and respawn handling - based on mission makers specification in init.sqf
- Custom loadout & logistics system which scrapes the kits of all playable characters to fulfil base logistical needs - such as starter crates and supply crates. (Disable scenario Binarization, and edit loadouts via ACE Arsenal to ensure 100% satisfaction)
