neuromorphic_computers

Motivation:

  1. Is there a better test of neuroscience theory than to physically build a brain?
  2. Neuromorphic computers promise to significantly reduce the expected carbon footprint of AI technology.
  3. This is closely related to my interest in the thermodynamics of computation.

Basics:

  1. Neural Engineering: Computation, Representation, and Dynamics in Neurobiological Systems (Computational Neuroscience Series) by Chris Eliasmith & Charles Anderson
  2. Neuronal Dynamics(online book)
  3. Human Brain Project lectures

Research labs:

  1. Electronic Visions
  2. Human Brain Project
  3. Brains in Silicon

  5. Neuromorphic Cognitive Robots
  6. Neuromorphic Cognitive Systems
  7. Eliasmith Research Group

Projects:

  1. BrainScaleS
  2. Nengo
  3. Spinnaker

Researchers:

  1. Kwabena Boahen, Stanford
  2. Giacomo Indiveri, ETH
