Demonstrate a stable multiyear aquaplanet simulation including Monin-Obukhov surface fluxes, 0-moment microphysics, time-varying insolation, and all-sky radiation

Setup

• the simulation runs with a stretched grid whose parameters roughly match the EDMF and performance constraints (63 layers, bottom ~30m, domain height should be >= 50km)
• the horizontal resolution is on average higher than 200km x 200km (h_elem=16, n_poly=4)
• the simulation runs with all-sky radiation and time-varying insolation
• the simulation runs with Earth topography

Result

• flow statistics agree visually and semi-quantitatively with literature
