Google Summer of Code is an internationally recognized program that encourages student involvement in open-source development. Over the summer, students collaborate with organizations to complete projects that contribute meaningfully to the open-source ecosystem.
The program provides a stipend to students, enabling them to dedicate their time to work on their projects. Since 2023, GSoC has expanded its eligibility to include all newcomers to open source aged 18 and above, broadening the scope of participation.

Cypherock members and members from the wider community can both propose projects, however, only Cypherock members can be mentors.

Applicants should have proficiency in at-least one of the following:
- C/C++
- JavaScript/Typescript
- Embedded systems
- or other relevant technologies depending on the project.
We encourage prospective students to review our project ideas, connect with mentors for detailed project insights, and apply accordingly.
Mentors are keen to understand an applicant's interest in a project, their skill set, and how they plan to achieve project goals.
