Correlation between Airthings Wave Plus and Corentium Plus Devices

This page compares the Radon measurement results between two Airthings Wave Plus devices and one Corentium Plus device. These two devices types have the following Radon measurement sensitivities:

Device Accuracy after 7 days Accuracy after 1 months Accuracy after 2 months
Corentium Plus σ<12% @ 50-350 Bq/m3 σ<9% @ 90-220 Bq/m3
Airthings Wave Plus 10% @ 200 Bq/m3 5% @ 200 Bq/m3

The 3 radon measurement devices as well as an Aware RM-80 radiation monitor have been placed very closely together about one meter above floor on the side of a tall cupboard.

The measurements have been performed during 5.3 weeks. The 24-hour-average values of the Airthings Wave Plus devices have been registered. To have the same averaging duration, the measurements of the Corentium Plus and Aware RM-80 radiation monitor have also been averaged over 24 hours. The measurement data of the 4 devices is shown in the following graph:

Radon_Correlation-Setup

The graph shows clearly a correlation between the Airthings Wave Plus devices and the Corentium Plus. But the differences between the measurements of the 3 devices seems be pretty high, at least higher than the the specified order of 10% - 20%.

There seems also a certain correlation between the Aware RM-80 radiation monitor and the 3 other Radon measurement devices, but it somewhat difficult to make clear conclusions; sometimes the RM-80 follows the tendency of the Radon measurement devices, and sometimes not really.

The following graph shows how the two Airthings Wave Plus correlate with the Corentium Plus device:

This graph shows clearly much lower accuracies of the Airthings Wave Plus and Corentium Plus devices, than the specified ones.
