Resolve tabular performance errors
- The tabular performance in the Excel file in the Documentation folder had some errors in the prior release that have been resolved.
- We also removed a inconsistency where the floating turbine used peak thrust shaving but the fixed bottom did not. True to the original report and design intent, there is now no peak thrust shaving in either version.
A few improvements and corrections
Updates in this release:
- Improvements in the auto-generation of the tabular data (#208 )
- Keeping the WindIO yaml-files consistent with upstream updates
- Update the second-order hydrodynamic data and the associated WAMIT input and output files for the UMaineSemi (#215 )
- Another iteration and improvement on the OpenFAST Elastodyn mode shape coefficients (#216 )
- Fix the
VTK_fps
input for OpenFAST files (#217 )
Fix nacelle mass properties
A error in a couple of the parameter names in the yaml-files had caused zero-values to be passed to some of the drivetrain components, which led to bad values in CoM and MoI and mass values. This is now resolved thanks to the critical eye of our user community.
Also a minor change to fill the monopile with seawater in the OpenFAST simulations.
v1.1.10: Correct errors in OpenFAST monopile SubDyn module
ROSCO v2.9 and mooring "volume equivalent diameter"
This release brings in ROSCO v2.9 and a bug-fix in the mooring diameter specification to be the "volume equivalent diameter", which is more appropriate for modeling.
ROSCO v2.8 and minor fix in HAWCStab2 file.
This release brings in ROSCO v2.8 and some fixes for HAWCStab2 generator efficiency value used in the "onshore" (tower and above) files.
Fix tower induced instability
This release brings back tower-only structural damping to 1% targeting a fore-aft and side-side first mode damping of 0.3%, see here #158
v1.1.6: HAWC2 monopile, VolturnUS-S CAD model
Features in this release:
- Addition of a HAWC2 monopile model
- Alignment of tower and monopile discretizations and properties across YAML, HAWC2, and OpenFAST files
- Addition of SolidWorks CAD model for UMaine VolturnUS-S semisubmersible
- Improvements to blade shape geometry continuity
Improvements in OpenFAST floating model
- Update OpenFAST input files for v3.5.1 release API changes
- Floating tower damping reverted to 1.0% to resolve numerical instabilities. There is a good deal of uncertainty about the true value here as it is normally determined experimentally. Comments to this effect have been added to the Wiki entry.
- Update the second-order potential-flow wave excitation of the VolturnUS-S platform. #137.
v1.1.4: Updated OpenFAST and ROSCO
- Update OpenFAST input files for v3.4.1 release API changes
- Update ROSCO libraries and inputs to v2.7
- Blade elastic properties consistently originate from SONATA/ANBA4
- Cleanup of stale files and README comments
