It is a strategic decision by KOST to offer KOST-Val only in the KOST-Tools installation package. KOST-Tools is an installation package of archiving software for the archives and their delivering bodies and, in addition to KOST-Val, also includes the appropriate JRE for KOST-Val as well as other archiving tools such as DROID. This installation package enables better coordination of knowledge within the archive community. KOST-Tools will be compiled and tested by the KOST office and made available as an MSI installer file. New tools will be integrated step by step, according to the needs of KOST (sponsors, supporters and office). The aim is quality over quantity.
Please note that support for KOST tools by the KOST office is only free of charge for providers and their submitting institutions. Other archives and institutions have the option of paying an annual support fee.

KOST-Tools ist ein Installationspaket archivischer Software für die Archive und deren abliefernde Stellen und beinhaltet nebst KOST-Val auch das passende JRE zu KOST-Val sowie weitere Archiv-Tools wie z.B. DROID. Mit diesem Installationspaket ist eine bessere Koordination des Wissens innerhalb der Archiv-Community möglich. KOST-Tools wird durch die Geschäftsstelle der KOST zusammengestellt, getestet und als MSI-Installer-Datei zur Verfügung gestellt. Schrittweise werden neue Tools integriert werden, und zwar gemäss den Bedürfnissen der KOST (Träger, Supporter und Geschäftsstelle). Dabei wird Qualität vor Quantität angestrebt.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass der Support zu KOST-Tools durch die Geschäftsstelle nur für Träger und deren abliefernden Stellen kostenlos ist. Für andere Archive und Institutionen besteht die Möglichkeit, eine jährliche Supportpauschale zu bezahlen.

Le CECO a pris la décision stratégique de ne plus proposer KOST-Val que dans le paquet d'installation KOST-Tools. KOST-Tools est un paquet d'installation de logiciels d'archivage pour les archives et leurs services versants et comprend, outre KOST-Val, le JRE correspondant à KOST-Val ainsi que d'autres outils d'archivage comme par exemple DROID. Ce paquet d'installation permet une meilleure coordination des connaissances au sein de la communauté des archives. KOST-Tools est composé par le bureau du CECO, testé et mis à disposition sous forme de fichier d'installation MSI. De nouveaux outils seront intégrés progressivement, en fonction des besoins du CECO (membres, supporters et secrétariat). La qualité sera privilégiée par rapport à la quantité.
Veuillez noter que le support de KOST-Tools par le bureau du CECO n'est gratuit que pour les membres et leurs services versants. Pour les autres archives et institutions, il est possible de payer un forfait annuel de support.
