Lateb fortune
=============

First you need a fortune compiler, usually strfile:

  * FreeBSD: Shipped by default;
  * OpenBSD, NetBSD: Source code here: `/usr/src/games/fortune/strfile/`;
  * Solaris: OpenCSW package `fortune`;
  * Debian, Ubuntu: Package `fortune-mod`;
  * Windows: Ah ah!;
  * Others: http://github.com/Aversiste/strfile;

On a BSD system, just run `make` and `make install`:

    $ ls
    Makefile   README     lateb.real
    $ make && sudo make install
    $ ls
    Makefile   README     lateb      lateb.dat  lateb.real

If you are unfortunate enough to only have access to gmake, run this:

    $ tr '[a-zA-Z]' '[n-za-mN-ZA-M]' < lateb.real > lateb
    $ strfile -rx lateb lateb.dat
    "lateb.dat" created
    There were 21 strings
    Longest string: 62 bytes
    Shortest string: 12 bytes
    $ sudo cp lateb{,.dat} /usr/share/games/fortune
    $ sudo chmod 444 /usr/share/games/fortune/lateb{,.dat}
    $ sudo chown root:bin /usr/share/games/fortune/lateb{,.dat}
