Split stock share when the Ibovespa "Desdobramento" event happens. So now, we can split some stock we have by informing the "Split Ratio" which is basically the multiplier coefficient that will be used to calculate the new amount of shares.

For example:

On October, 14. The company Magazine Luiza - MGLU3 has splitted its shares from 1 to 4. Which means that who had one share now have 4 of them.

They do this kind of thing to make the price lower in order to make smaller investors able to invest more.
