The Swiss National Basic Climatological Network "Swiss NBCN" connects the major ground-based stations within the MeteoSwiss monitoring network. It consists of around 30 climate monitoring stations.
The homogenous time series data for temperature, precipitation and hours of sunshine date back, in some cases, to the mid-nineteenth century.
If you require daily, monthly or annual values, we strongly recommend that you download the corresponding aggregated data granularity D

and update frequency daily (recent
) or yearly (historical
) for each station.
Data format of all files is CSV

The following grid data products are derived from radar data, which were further processed for statistical statements with the use of the HailStoRe resampling approach, among other things (see links for detailed product documentations). The hail climatology was developed in a user-oriented manner in a public-private partnership and represents a nationally uniform basis for the risk assessment of hail events.
