KUDOS to Dan Knight

I wanted to make this wiki page to show my appreciation for this DietPi project.

I reached out to Dan Knight a few months ago, just to ask him whether we could use his DietPi image as the basis for the appliance of our opensource project. He didn't just respond via mail, with a binary yes/no answer, but he spent weeks with us to get our application to run out-of-the-box on his DietPi platform.

The success of DietPi is not only

• the lean-and-mean distro
• the intelligence behind the screen to automatically transform the distro into any type of appliance What makes the DietPi project unique and successful is the dedication, openness, helpfulness of its inventor, Dan Knight.

It is people like Dan who bring the opensource community to a next level. Being not only interested in their own project, but looking across the boundaries to see how his project can add value elsewhere.
