Newcomers Guide
We are an open-community and at the same time, we aim to create a safe collaboration ground. That being said, express your interest in joining our community.
We used Slack as our primary communication channel for which you need to be invited. Any existing member can invite you and you may ask for one here.
Feel free to discuss with us your interests and experience and we will help you to find a proper scope of contribution. The projects at OpenGenus has been such that anyone, irrespective of any factors, can contribute greatly to our missions.
Finally, you are mentored through your journey to make your first contribution at OpenGenus Foundation. You are warmly, welcomed to our 1000+ GitHub community. This step consists of several micro-steps such as:
- Create an issue and/ or get it assigned
- Fork the repository
- Clone the forked repository to make a local copy
- Make changes to your local copy
- Push changes to your forked repository
- Create a pull request
- Participate in the review process
- Get your pull request merged π
Do not let the above list demotivate you. We will help you through the entire process. In fact, you do not need to have any previous experience. We will demonstrate and help you learn valuable skills throughout the process.
We organize a couple of events with the aim to enhance your experience. We would love to have you stick with us and enjoy our journey.
