🌀 Flux

Flux is a core mechanic in FluxPerMillion that tracks the environmental impact of players’ actions. A player’s Flux value rises with polluting activities and falls with eco-friendly ones. The server's overall environmental health reflects the total Flux values of all players. Effectively managing Flux is essential to maintaining a sustainable game environment.

🌲 Eco-Friendly Actions

Eco-Friendly actions reduce a player’s Flux and have a positive impact on the environment.

  • Breaking Campfires
  • Breaking Torches
  • Growing Crops
  • Growing Trees
  • Loading Compost Bins
  • Populating Endangered Animals
  • Spreading Grass

☢️ Polluting Actions

Polluting actions increase a player’s Flux and have a negative impact on the environment.

  • Boosting with Elytra
  • Brewing Potions
  • Burning Blocks
  • Burning Fuel
  • Cutting Down Trees
  • Excessive Fishing
  • Explosions
  • Launching Fireworks
  • Leaving Items On The Ground
  • Mining Coal
  • Overclocking Minecarts
  • Overpopulation of Animals
  • Placing Campfires
  • Placing Torches
  • Surge Boosting Minecarts
  • Throwing Splash, Lingering Potions, or Bottle o' Enchanting
  • Using Flint and Steel

🧱 Smelting

This table lists the emission rates for various materials when used as fuel in a furnace. The emission represents the percentage of undesirable Flux generated compared to the base value. Lower percentages are better, as they indicate less Flux is emitted. Any item not included in the table below has a default Flux Emission value of 100%.

🛠️ Custom Mechanics

Minecarts

Surge Boost
Right-clicking on coal while riding in a minecart grants a temporary speed boost.
Overclock
Right-clicking a coal block while in a minecart activates the overclock effect, which temporarily increases the minecart's maximum speed.

🌪️ Environmental Events

Environmental events occur when Flux levels reach certain thresholds. High Flux levels may trigger disasters or impose debuffs. Conversely, low Flux levels can reward players with bonuses for their eco-friendly actions.

Example Disasters

Blizzard
Freezing cold storms that will literally freeze mobs and players in solid ice, mobs can be thawed out after the storm, you will need a fire to keep warm.

Lava Geysers
A burst of lava launches you through the pits of the nether burning to the touch.

Tornado
Wind rapidly spins pulling blocks and all entities around in this cyclone throwing them far and high in the sky.
