Create an environment where you have permissions to build a Dataverse app. I use a developer environment that is free: https://powerapps.microsoft.com/developerplan/.

Step 1: Install the Colorful Optionset solution in your environment. Credit Diana Birkelbach
Step 2: Install the Potters House solution. (Important Note, you will receive a language warning here and that can be ignored).

For Step 1 and 2, you'll want to go to https://make.powerapps.com and click Solutions. Once there, click Import Step 1 and Step 2 files.

Important note: You will receive a warning when you import solution 2 (step 2). This is due to translations being enabled and that can be ignored. Likely you only have one language installed in your environment. You wouldn't see this if you had English and Spanish enabled. This will not impact your build though..

Course corrections:

  • When Nate is creating a table you'll now see New --> Table --> Set Advanced Properties
  • If you get an error (not warning) importing, it's likely due to you not having permissions to import. Please try a different environment.
  • There's a chance there will not be sample data installed. If you'd like sample data, click the gear box in the top right corner and Advanced Settings. Then Data Management and Add Sample Data

Tables we use:

  • Account
