PyCon 2105 Sponsorship Prospectus
PyCon is the largest annual gathering for the community using and developing the open-source Python programming language. PyCon is organized by the Python community for the community. We try to keep registration far cheaper than most comparable technology conferences in order to keep PyCon accessible to the widest group possible. The conference draws a diverse delegation for which we are dedicated to providing an enjoyable experience to everyone.
Your sponsorship helps keep PyCon affordable and accessible to the widest possible audience. PyCon is organized by volunteers from the Python community and underwritten by the Python Software Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization set up to manage the growth and development of Python worldwide.
The available sponsorships are below. Don't see what you want? Contact us any time, we are flexible and willing to work with you to design the sponsorship package that will fulfill your business needs.
- Ewa Jodlowska, Event Coordinator, ewa@python.org
- Diana Clarke, Conference Chair, diana.joan.clarke@gmail.com
Estimated attendance: 2500+
Audience profile: Developers, technologists, programmers and hackers; bloggers, authors and web developers; CTOs, managers and entrepreneurs; scientists, engineers and domain experts.
The tutorials are classroom style, hands-on educational courses that are available for registration. There is an additional cost for everyone to attend tutorials ($150 per tutorial).
We begin with an opening reception in the Exhibition Hall (room 210 in the Palais des Congres Convention Center). This event begins at 6pm on Thursday April 9, 2015 and goes until 9pm. Drinks tickets and hor'd ouerves are provided. Friday morning at 10am we begin the official Expo Hall and that goes until Saturday, April 11, 2015.
On Friday, April 10, 2015 we also kick off the main conference. We begin with plenary sessions in room 517AB at the Palais. After the plenary, there are 5 concurrent breakouts throughout the day. We end each conference day with lightning talks in room 517AB. During Friday, April 10th and Saturday, April 11th, the Expo Hall is open to attendees from 8am to 5pm. Breakfast, AM break, lunch, and PM break are served in the Expo Hall amongst the booths - so please have your booth staffed!
On Sunday, April 12, 2015 we switch Exhibit Hall 210 from a booth setup to the Job Fair and Poster Session. Sponsors who are gold Level and higher can opt-in to taking part in the job fair. During this time, sponsors are provided with a 6 foot table and 2 chairs. Starting at 10am, the sponsors can discuss the job openings they have and look for possible candidates. In 2015, we will have more seating around so sponsors can do short interviews if wanted. Sponsors can bring swag to give away, pamphlets with job descriptions, self standing banners/props. No electricity is provided during this time. We want people to concentrate on quality of jobs/possible employment and not marketing. Unrelated to sponsors, we also have poster sessions out during this time to help bring in a larger crowd.
PyCon Development Sprints are four days of intensive learning and development on an open source project of your choice, in a team environment. It's a time to come together with colleagues, old and new, to share what you've learned and apply it to an open source project.
The Exhibit Hall will be located in Exhibit Hall 210 in the Palais des Congres. The Exhibit Hall will be located near Registration and in close proximity to all the sessions.
NEW in 2015: The breakfasts and lunches will also be amongst the booths setup in the Exhibit Hall. Please prepare to have your booths staffed from 8:00am until 5pm. It is mandatory that your booth is staffed for the "active times" (see below.)

Job Fair: Sunday, April 12, 2015 - 10:00am to 1:00pm
- Active time is from 10:00am until 1:00pm
In previous years, we have had an amazing turn out at our Job Fair. Many companies found good prospects during the three hour event, some receiving hundreds of resumes in a short time.
In 2015, the Job Fair will be Sunday, April 12th. It will be located in Exhibit Hall 210 in the Palais des Congres. Each participant will have a 6 foot table reserved for them. Set up begins at 8:00am Sunday. The Job Fair is open to attendees from 10:00am to 1:00pm (3 hours). At 1:00pm, Exhibit Hall 210 will be cleared out.
Every participant will have a six foot table and chairs set aside for them; we do not use booths during the Job Fair. You are welcome to have a standing banner or customized table cloth. Give aways/flyers are also welcome. Power will not be provided.
Keep in mind, if you do not see what you want, contact us any time. We are flexible and willing to work with you to design the sponsorship package that will fulfill your business needs.
More information regarding the Expo Hall will be sent out in the Exhibit Manual in November 2015 from our decorator.
