Many people frequently ask questions about the Clipboard Project. Here's some of them answered!

How does CB work?

CB saves everything you cut, copy, or pipe in to a special directory that it sets up just for this purpose. On platforms with GUIs, however, this directory doesn't go away but rather becomes the place from which CB syncs the native clipboard.

What does CB offer over cp and mv?

CB isn't like cp or mv at all. Instead, it's its own thing. CB lets you copy files and folders and not have to think about where you want to put them. Think of it like an assistant who knows everything about what you want to move around, and not as a single-action tool like cp or mv.

What does CB offer over xclip and pbcopy and wl-copy?

CB is the replacement for these tools. CB offers a unified interface to copy anything into the clipboards that these tools interact with. In addition, CB lets you copy files directly, painlessly.

Can I use CB in scripts?

Totally! In fact, CB has several checks specifically for script usage. And, since the clipboard is almost always system-wide, CB offers an easy path to file/data sharing across your scripts.
