The Terror Timeline reflected the state of technology in the early 2000s: dynamic web pages, MySQL database, and JavaServer Pages.
That technology is now obsolete, at least in the realm of web development. It is much faster and cheaper to generate static content and then host it on a simple HTTP server.
That is why I chose Gatsby. It's fast, it's modern, can pull data from almost any source, uses React templates, generates static web pages, handles offline and progressive web apps, supports CommonMark, and has an entire library of plugins.
