+Brief Overview

+The Research Organization Registry (ROR) API provides programmatic access to the organization's persistent identifiers for research organizations. An API key is not required for this API, but they do require you to and follow their rate limit of 2000 requests per five minute period. 
+
+See the ROR API documentation [#ror1]_ for more information on accessing the API. Note that the data in the API is licensed under the Creative Commons CC0 license [#ror2]_ , designating it as part of the public domain.
